A former Washington County state delegate is among seven people who will decide where slot machines will be placed in Maryland. Democrat D. Bruce Poole, a Hagerstown attorney, was one of two selections announced Monday by House Speaker Michael E. Busch.

Busch, Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller Jr. and Gov. Martin O'Malley each filled two slots Monday on the Video Lottery Facility Location Commission.
Last week, O'Malley announced the other member - Donald C. Fry, who will be chairman.

Bally signs contract with Mexican Pringsa

Bally Technologies, one of the main gaming machines providers, has signed an agreement with Mexican casino operator Pringsa Corp. Through the contract, Bally will become the exclusive equipment provider for Pringsa’s 36 venues, located across the country.

"This agreement paves the way for Bally to further expand its games and systems presence in one of the industry's leading growth markets,” Bally Chief Executive Richard M. Haddrill commented. Besides slot machines, Bally will also provide Pringsa with its casino management system.

New casino in Macao

Las Vegas Sands will open its third hotel in Macao this week, this time managed by the Four Seasons chain and including a retail store area and a casino. The new casino, that will open exactly a year after the opening of the Venetian, will have approximately 170 gaming tables and 210 slots, as well as a separate entrance to the hotel and a retail mall.

The hotel will have 360 rooms, all of them exquisitely decorated and equipped with high-end technology; five restaurants that will serve gourmet food prepared by renowned chefs; two bars with a wide variety of drinks and a spa.

Ritzio becomes Byelorussia’s largest gaming provider

Ritzio International informed that the company has become the largest gaming provider in Byelorussia. According to the figures released by representatives of the company, about 1,300 of its slot machines are offered in more than 27 gaming clubs across the country.

The company entered the Byelorussian market with its gaming club brand Volcano in November 2006, opening the first club in Minsk. Since then, Ritzio Byelorussia has established a series of high-end gaming venues with 40 slot machines, electronic roulette, an attractive design and a well-trained and friendly staff.
